Laura Scalzi, MS CCC-SLP received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Maryland College Park.  She then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Emerson College.  In her 18 years of experience, Laura has treated children from infancy through adolescence with a variety of speech and language disorders including:  Apraxia, Autism, Down Syndrome, Articulation and Phonological Disorders, Oral Motor Disorders, Fluency Disorders, and Receptive and Expressive Language Delays. She has worked in a number of settings including as a school-based SLP, early intervention, home-based therapy, and private practice.  She specializes in services for preschool to school age children as well as articulation and fluency services for any age.  Areas of interest include oral motor development, apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, and articulation and phonological disorders.  Laura has completed a variety of courses and trainings including PROMPT, Floortime/DIR, Carol Westby's Play/Language seminars, fluency seminars, Lindamood Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing, and Sarah Ward's Executive Functioning work shop.  She is committed to offering cutting edge therapy and ensures that you receive the best, most up to date treatment, by regularly attending conferences and courses on current topics and treatment strategies.  Laura Scalzi M.S. CCC-SLP holds a license in the State of Maryland and has been issued a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
